Yes, end of year and time for awards. The William C Morris YA Award (a new award) honors a book written by a first-time author for young adults.
The finalists have been announced and they are:
A Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce
Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Absolute Brightness by James Lecesne
Madapple by Christina Meldrum
Me, the Missing, and the Dead by Jenny Valentine
So -- have you read any of them? And if so, which would be your pick to win? I've heard only great things about four of them, and I'm sure the fifth must be fabulous too. Decisions, decisions -- which to read first...

An intersting list, now there is more to add to my neverending pile of TBR books. I have read graceling and just loved it. Which book are you interested in reading first.
I want to read A Curse Dark as Gold the most, and I've heard really good things about Me, the Missing, and the Dead. Am currently in the middle of What I Saw and How I Lied, which I'm enjoying tremendously. If only there was more time...
Oh I know what you mean. There is never enough time for all the books I want to read and enjoy.
I just finished The Fetch by laura Whitcomb. It had an amazing intro, the Fetch's job so well explained, but then lost some of its luster half way thru and it seemed to drag. The last two pages were well done but not enough to carry the whole of the book.
I am reading You Are So Undead To Me right now,and this book is really cute. Very Buffyish..LOL!! I am trying very hard to get thru my TBR. I cannot wait for Fragile Eternity and City of Glass. I have read some good reviews, which makes me even more excited.
Sorry to hear that about The Fetch. I was looking forward to it because I really loved A Certain Slant of Light. And yes, how the time drags until Fragile Eternity! And because I loved Buffy, I've now added You Are So Undead To Be to my TBR ever growing pile.(But after Wondrous Strange, of course.) Thanks for the recommendation.
This book was perfect, i couldnt put it down!!!!
