Win a T Shirt!

Our first competition!

Yes, we have a fabulous Gallagher Girls t shirt to give away.

If you were at our Ally Carter event you will remember that she gave away one of her t shirts. And I have another one to give away (and oh, I so wanted to keep it!).

Here's all you have to do. I'm going to give it to the person who posts the most on the blog. That's it. Post a comment on our book reviews or events, tell us what you are reading, what you want to read, which event you can't wait to attend, or who you would like us to interview. Easy.

Omg, I just finished reading "Love Walked In" and i am so in love with it! It was truly fantastic and so creative... all the references to classic movies and the most sincerely cliche moments were just magical. Don't know if you guys did a review of it before, but if not you must do so now so that everyone can know about this amazing book!

Just checked it out and it looks good. I'll read it next. Did you know that it has been optioned for a movie starring Sarah Jessica Parker?

wow! I'm not sure I could see her playing the lead... but I'm happy to see the book getting press!

I'm also just starting to read Chronicle of a Death Foretold, by Gabriel García Marquez, and I realized that he also wrote Love in the Time of Cholera. My friend told me that it was very hard to get into, any opinion on if it is worth reading?

So, I'm almost finished with Stephenie Meyer's "Eclipse". I'm so wrapped up in the story. These books are amazing. I'm sure you've read them. I just can't seem to put them down!

For Aribobari,
I really love the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, especially One Hundred Years of Solitude. He is an exceptional writer. Chronicle of a Death Foretold is lighter and a good place to start (it's the first I read by Garcia Marquez). It introduced me to magic realism and, I'll admit, if you haven't read something like that before it can be a little hard to get into at first. But keep reading because it's wonderful and ultimately led me to read all the rest of his work. Hope you enjoy it.

I have just finished reading the Hunger Games and The Graveyard Book. Both were amazing reads and very different from one another

The Hunger games, was amazing and not for the faint of heart. It was brutal and yet I could not stop reading it, just like the crash on the side of the road...you want to know what happens even though it is not pretty.

The graveyard book was a little gem of a book. I fell in love with all of its characters, especially bod. I hope to see more of him in the future.

to bookgeek,
I finished Chronicle last week and I thought it was fantastic!! Somehow Marquez was really able to tie together all of the extremely detailed accounts, all the differing testimony, and the mystical and religious motifs. It was amazing to see so much depth and to get so much out of such a concise story... And thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely read 100 Years of Solitude next!

I just finished Breaking Dawn, and am still in love with the series...now more than ever! I just started reading "This Lullaby" by Sarah Dessen and love it too. It's been a great couple of months books wise!

by the way, I noticed there hasn't been a review of Brisingr yet! This is the first in the Inheritance series that I haven't immediately run out and bought, and I'm still debating whether or not to... anyone already read it and got an opinion??
How does it compare to the other books? Should this have been the last one, ie is he just rambling now? thanks!

For Aribobobari: I haven't read Brisingr yet but we hope to have a review for the November book blast. (You signed up for the book blasts--yes?) We'll also include an interview with Christopher Paolini who talks to us about his influences, how he went about getting published, and what he thought about the movie of Eragon. Oh, and did you know he apparently intends to write a fourth in the series?

For italiankungfugal: Yes, so many great books out at the moment. Have you read The Host yet? And I can't wait for Twilight, the movie.

italiankungfugal said...

No I haven't. Who's it by? Oh my goodness I can't for it either! I'm so stoked! :)

The Host is Stephenie Meyer's new book for adults where aliens (parasites) invade human brains! (Really) Melanie is a host for a soul called Wanderer who she persuades to help her look for her brother and boyfriend. A love triangle develops for Wanderer/ Melanie/and her boyfriend. Try it.
